Onyx
Album concept and identity for fictional artist Thamyris' debut album. The project began with the manipulation of a portrait, which became the basis for the album cover and concept.
Â
Onyx explores themes of self-perception, deconstruction and interpersonal relationships, reflecting on identity and the dynamics between oneself and others. The visual identity draws from the dark, malleable qualities associated with onyx, using a monochromatic palette and distorted imagery to explore the relationship between perception and identity.

The artist’s face is deformed across the cover, while traces of her original features remain visible beneath the distortion, suggesting transformation while retaining a connection to the original portrait.
